Building on strategies endorsed Pacific Forum Leaders through the adoption of the Regional Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (2012 – 2015) and the Revitalised Pacific Leaders GenderEquality Declaration (2023) we call for through formalized institutional arrangements supportingwomen-led peacebuilding networks, mobilizing mediators, and CSO teams for political mediationand crisis response including through systematic engagement with local peacebuilders andwomen-led mediator networks, at the frontlines of the climate and humanitarian crises”. Women experts must be brought into the peace process at an early stage, and, so that they canengage in politics safely, women’s rights must be protected.
